When I told my twenty-something son that his mother and I would be road to Southern California to investigating a narrative on mid-century modern-day architecture, he snickered, "How can they phone call that modern? It's so antique."

"How other would you label additive homes of glass, seed and steel?" I asked. "Whatever," he replied, dismissing the theme. And so, I drove southwestern examination whether the sleep homes of my youth, promoted later as the houses of tomorrow, were yesterday's romance.

In any separate subdivision of the world, genre edifice is the odd release or is laid-off as human being simply anachronistic, but in Southern California - specially in Palm Springs and Los Angeles - its examples are maintained, restored, pickled and their importance elevated to taste position class. Support for modernism, there, is proved in multitudinous way.
